I'm not entirely sure why, but I've rarely shared any photos of myself here or on Twitter. Of course, I also rarely share them on Facebook or Flickr, so maybe I'm just not a "share photos of myself with the masses" kind of guy.
Still, after seeing the photos my sister-in-law snapped of me and my husband, David, during out recent cruise, I felt compelled to share a few of them here. Hopefully you'll get a kick out of them.
And if not? Well, things will return to normal tomorrow morning. I promise.
This photo (above) was taken while our ship, the Island Princess, made its way through a segment of the Panama Canal. Why am I so peppy, you ask? I'm guessing it's because I was on my third soda of the day--and it was only 10 am.
In this photo, David and I are demonstrating our prowess (or not) at paddle tennis. I'm pretty sure we were the only people on the entire ship (of just under 2,000 passengers) to try our hands at this rather idiotic sport.
Do you see the look on David's face in the photo above? That's the face of a guy who has beaten his husband at ping pong (or "table tennis," if that's how you roll) in 1,000 out of 1,024 matches. Sigh.
Me and the hubs working on our tans (or not) in Aruba. You can't really tell by looking at this photo, but I was sweating like a pig at the time. What can I say? My body was meant for cooler temps.
I don't know about you, but I think this last photo should be used to promote tourism in Aruba.
So, there you have it: 10 days of fun whittled down to five photographs. Do you feel as though you know me a bit better as a result? Probably not, but at least now you know I'm an actual human being and not just a NSFW bara manga character.

And here I thought I had seen everything related to that ancient Billy Herrington meme
The always-fabulous Video Games Made Me Gay tumblog proved me wrong by highlighting the following video in a recent post:
I don't know about you, but I think it's a crying shame that no one ever took this idea and made it into a full-fledged racing game.
I mean, who wouldn't want to take control of a nearly naked Herrington as he rides his similarly muscular (and similarly lacking in clothing) bud in pursuit of ... whatever the hell it is they're chasing in the video above.

If loving Nyan Cat is wrong, I don't want to be right
Look! Up in the sky! It's a cat! It's a Pop Tart! It's Nyan Cat!
If the name Nyan Cat doesn't mean anything to you, check out this site or just click on the following video:
I'm sure some of you (OK, most of you) find this particular Internet meme annoying, but I find it kind of adorable. Of course, I'm a complete sucker for cats, Pop Tarts, rainbows and 8-bit-era graphics.
Given all of that, I'd love to play a Nyan Cat game at some point. I could totally see him (her?) starring in a Parodius-esque shooter, for instance.
I'm not sure that will end up describing the game the guy behind Nyan Cat--an illustrator who goes by the name of prguitarman--is working on at the moment, but we'll find out soon enough. (He recently said via Twitter that his Nyan Cat game is "looking good" and that he'll reveal more information about it shortly.)
In the meantime, why not show your love for the frosting-covered critter by buying (here) a t-shirt bearing his image?

Billy Herrington Tetris
I came across the following video while (somewhat) randomly surfing the web the other day:
Bill Herrington (the Speedo-clad bodybuilder in the clip above) is a gay porn star, by the way. Although he hasn't appeared in an adult movie since 2003, he's become something of a celebrity in Japan in the last few years thanks to the slew of mash-up videos (aka MAD movies) that have been posted on Nico Nico Douga, a Japanese video-sharing site.
Many of them, like the one above, are inspired by video games. This (rather NSFW-ish) one, for instance, is based on Final Fantasy VII.
If you're at all interested in learning more about this peculiar Internet meme, check out these posts on knowyourmeme.com.
