So, I was this close to buying and downloading a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf last night. I got all the way to the "Add Funds" button on the 3DS eShop, actually, but after pausing there for a few seconds I came to the--surprisingly level-headed, I think, given my purchase history--conclusion that spending about $70 on two copies of this game (I pre-ordered the retail version long ago via Newegg) may not be the wisest use of my hard-earned cash.
As a result, I'm now rather impatiently waiting for my physical copy of New Leaf to make its way to my doorstep while huge swaths of my North American brothers and sisters busy themselves with setting up their own characters and towns.
Will the piece of K.K. Slider fan art above, produced by illustrious Atlanta-based illustrator Drew Green, help make that wait a little more bearable? Probably not, but it should make it a bit more enjoyable.
Signed, 11-inch-by-17-inch prints of this illustration can be bought for $12 (plus shipping) from Green's etsy shop, ArtDrewveau, by the way.
Aside from all of the above, how many of you nabbed a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf last night or will be grabbing a physical copy of it sometime today? And for those of you who bought one or the other (or both, I guess), what did you decide to name your character and what did you name your town?

Sexy Shy Guy
I'm not entirely sure why, but awesome, Atlanta-based artist, Drew Green, recently decided to draw a "sexy Shy Guy."
I found it completely adorable when I came across it on Facebook, so of course I had to share it here.
To see more of Drew's work, be sure to check out his deviantart gallery and his Tumblr at your convenience.
Oh, and check out his wonderful comic, Ross Boston, too, if you're into that sort of thing.

'Mega Man Kicks Butt'
Are you one of the many fans who were left feeling heartbroken after the folks at Capcom announced they were canceling Mega Man Legends 3? I am, and I don't even own a 3DS!
It seems a number of the artists who contribute to the Drawed Goods tumblog were bummed by the cancellation, too, since many of the site's most recent uploads focus on the Blue Bomber and/or his compadres.
The one above, titled "Mega Man Kicks Butt," was was drawn by the fabulous Drew Green, by the way. To see more of his work, check out his blog, his deviantART gallery or his tumblog.

Saucy Peach
You know I consider to be a crying shame? That Princess Peach--Princess Toadstool if you're an old-school (or simply old) gamer like me--has been a playable character in just two Nintendo-developed platformers over the years: The delicious Super Mario Bros. 2 and the dreadful (or at least disappointing) Super Princess Peach.
I bring that up because the piece of fan art above, produced by Drew Green, has me dreaming of another Peach-y platformer. I doubt such a game is going to get the green light anytime soon, but even if it does you know the folks at Nintendo won't make her royal hotness look anywhere near as saucy as she does in the Atlantan's illustration.

Nasty Navi
Although there's a lot to look forward to in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, I'd look forward to this soon-to-be-released 3DS title a lot more fervently if it featured a foul-mouthed Navi like the one depicted in the drawing below.
This nasty Navi was drawn by ever-bearded artist Drew Green, by the way. To see more of his creations, check out his blog, deviantART gallery, Flickr photostream or tumblog.

Drew Green's 'Sakura vs. Shuma-Gorath'
I could hardly be called the world's biggest fan of fighting games. In fact, I don't think I've played one since, oh, the 1996 release of the Sega Saturn version of Street Fighter Alpha, I think?
Although I haven't played a fighting game since before the turn of the century, I continue to be attracted to the genre--mainly because of its typically wacky casts of characters.
Case in point: Marvel vs. Capcom 3's Sakura and Shuma-Gorath, both of whom are colorfully and deliciously depicted in the Drew Green illustration below.

Morrigan Aensland by Andrew "Drew" Green
I may suck at most fighting games, but that doesn't keep me from liking many of them. One such game that has long attracted my attention and interest: Capcom's Darkstalkers.
Atlanta-based artist Andrew "Drew" Green must be a fan of the game, too, as he recently updated his blog with rather delicious drawing of Darkstalkers' sexy succubus, Morrigan Aensland.
As for why he chose Morrigan over the game's other characters, Green says (on his blog), "I've always felt her design is really very solid. Great color choices, good balance of elements, a lot of personality, and frankly I happen to love sexy characters."
To see more of Green's great work, check out his blog or his Flickr photostream. (Oh, and don't miss this post if you're any kind of Mario fan.)
