At any rate, here's how much time I spent playing various 3DS games in 2014 (as per the "Activity Log" files on my Japanese and North American systems):
- Tomodachi Life ... 127:43
- Bravely Default ... 99:45
- Fantasy Life ... 88:08
- Etrian Odyssey IV ... 59:20
- Solitiba ... 57:30
- THE "DENPA" MEN 3 ... 42:19
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds ... 20:30
- Yoshi's New Island ... 12:31
- Super Mario 3D Land ... 12:10
- Rusty's Real Deal Baseball ... 6:30
The only "results" that surprised me were Etrian Odyssey IV and Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, as I had no idea I spent so much time with either title. Also, I'm kind of shocked I've yet to put more than six hours and 30 minutes into Slime MoriMori Dragon Quest 3. I guess that means I have to devote a bit more time to it in the coming days and weeks.
One last tidbit some of you may find interesting: apparently I spent just over 580 hours playing 62 "titles" (which includes the eShop, Activity Log and other apps, by the way) on my pair of 3DS systems in 2014.

Hello, Francesca! Thanks for the comment :) Those are some great results, if you ask me. I especially love how much time you put into Bravely Default last year. I'm guessing you ended up liking the game quite a bit? Also, you've reminded me that I have to finally start SMT IV sometime soon. I can't believe I've ignored it this long!
My stats are a little trickier because I switch between the 3DS and 2DS on some of these, but the tops for 2014 on my 3DS XL are:
StreetPass Mii Plaza 89:56
Netflix - 78:20
Pokemon Y - 43:35
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire - 42:35
Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 40:27
Fantasy Life - 25:45
Pokemon X - 22:29
Steps Taken: 556,228
Nothing else broke 20 hours. Mii Plaza's stats surprised me, but then I have two machines constantly passing each other. Netflix is high because I can let it play at work, even if I'm not really paying attention.
Holy cow, Terry! Your Mii Plaza stats definitely are surprising XD Other than that, it's interesting that you've already put a lot of time into Pokemon AS. Also, you're still playing New Leaf. Good for you!
I was trying to get my 2DS caught up to my 3DS on the Mii Plaza puzzle pieces... and then I had another machine for the ghost mansion game... It really adds up when they pass each other every 8 hours. lol
Wow! Well, at least that makes a bit more sense :)
You mean it KNOWS all this stuff? Eek!
You didn't know that before now, Jess??
My top 4 played 3DS games are:
Bravely Default-159:53
Super Smash Bros-128:15
Animal Crossing: New Leaf 123:11
Fantasy Life-103:32
It also says The Legend of Zelda: A link Between Worlds at 5th place at 97:50 but it only got that time because I left it on without playing to get the substitute street passes you get if you have the game on for a certain amount of hours.
Also, This probably a unpopular opinion but I think Yoshi's New Island might have one of my favorite main theme songs of a game in 2014 even though I didn't play it
Whoa, Sam! You really knocked the socks off my Bravely Default and Fantasy Life stats. Also, I'm impressed that you put an additional 123 hours into New Leaf this past year!
As for Yoshi's New Island, I'm going to have to go listen to its theme song, because I can't remember it XD I do remember quite liking that game's soundtrack overall, though, so I'm guessing I like it, too :)
Well, I knew that the original Wii keeps a record of what you play every day. I just didn't know the 3DS kept such a detailed history of your gaming. It's weird! Maybe I should look through my history and see what surprises await...
Sam, if you're still playing New Leaf and need a town to visit, my gates are open in the evenings again. A friend got the game for Christmas and I've been giving her a place to go.
That's nice of you, Terry!
Ok, I'll check next time I play. Thanks. I hope your friend is enjoying the game.
Turns out my mother played more Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask than any one game I played (at roughly forty-eight hours). She kind of rubbed my nose in that fact. (Hey, I don't JUST play 3DS, y'know!)
Ha! I love it, Jess :) I've often wondered if I should have my mom try one of the Layton games, as I think she'd like the combination of mystery and puzzles.
It's very good even with the ugly graphics! Guess I owe you a Coke!
(I do wonder why all the monsters turn into "ordinary" people and the hellish background transforms into a cityscape after you die. What are the developers trying to tell us...?)
Heh, movement. I've had more appealing movements after a triple burrito meal at the Taco Shack.
Now, where's that rimshot mp3 when I need it? ;)
A ha! See, I was right! I wouldn't lead you astray, Jess. As for that last bit: your guess is as good as mine!
