Word on the street is that the handful of Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS menu themes that have been available in Japan for some time now will be brought to the European and North American eShops this week.
That's music to my ears, as I've been clamoring for the Sable Able one (below) since I first became aware of it.
Later, I'll pick up the "Isabelle in Town Hall" (below) and "Timmy and Tommy Nook" ones, too.
To see (and hear) the rest of this batch of 3DS menu themes in action, check out this video (for the "Bulletin Board" one) and this video ("Mabel Able").
Are any of you planning to add one or more of the above themes to your 3DS systems in the coming days? If so, which ones? And if not, have you bought--or are you considering buying--any of the other menu themes that have been made available so far?
I've been wanting the bulletin board theme since they were announced, so I'm glad we're finally getting it. I'm still torn between getting a New 3DS or 3DS XL because the K.K. Slider faceplate is so tempting.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, Terry! Personally, I'm planning to pick up either a JP new 3DS or a NA one early next year. I have to admit I'm not a fan of the smaller screens, but the face plates outweigh that issue for me.
ReplyDeleteI'd be all over a Swapnote (may it rest in peace) theme with Nikki. They look pretty good and Europe got the sweet Halloween theme free. This is an excellent move creating these themes.
ReplyDeleteDo they "bundle" themes with faceplates? It seems like they should throw in a theme with faceplates.
ReplyDeleteI don't know for sure, Chief, but I believe that's what Nintendo is doing in Japan. So, maybe the Isabelle theme comes with the Isabelle face plate? Regardless, I hope they do that when they bring the new 3DS to NA.
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be nice! It really is too bad they killed Swapnote :(
ReplyDeleteI've already bought the Halloween Animal Crossing theme for my Japanese 3DS, but I've realized I don't see it all that much! I usually leave my games open and just put the system in sleep mode, so I only see the theme when switching games! It's kind of a shame, haha
ReplyDeleteHa! That's funny, Anne :) I pretty much never leave a game running/put my 3DS in sleep mode. I always back out of the game and leave the system on the main menu. Which I guess makes me a perfect candidate for some of these menu themes XD
ReplyDeleteConsidering why, I'm not surprised or sad about that. They should bring back Nikki for future hand held announcements & things though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. She's definitely a character Nintendo should continue to use in some capacity, IMO.
ReplyDeleteI broke down and I'm going to pick up one of them next year. I suspect I'll grab a non XL one & 1 set of faceplates if they have a nice simple
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to buy all of them, then spend hours deciding which one to use. :3
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm definitely going with the smaller system, Chief, as I want to be able to use those face plates. I have a feeling I'm going to miss the XL's bigger screens, though :(
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Good for you, Adam :) I'm definitely just going with the Sable one at first, but I *know* more will follow suit sometime after that.
ReplyDeleteOut of the lot, Sable theme has the best music. :3 Can see myself going with that one.
ReplyDeleteBut you just said you were going to buy all of them! Or did you mean you'd use the Sable one first or most of the time?
ReplyDeleteI'll admit, it's hard to decide which one to use, haha. Went with the bulletin board theme in the end - like to have my icons small, so it matches the background of the theme. Plus the music is a great choice!
ReplyDeleteAh, that's a nice one :) I've only bought the Sable one so far, but I'm very happy with it. Next will be the "Isabelle on Town Hall" one, I think...
ReplyDeleteWould it be too much to ask for a K.K. Slider theme? Guess Nintendo would have a hard time deciding on which song to use. :P
ReplyDeleteWell, a KK Slider face plate is going to be released soon, so I wouldn't be surprised if a KK Slider menu theme is released along with it or soon after!
ReplyDeleteThose face plates - happy collecting!
ReplyDeleteYep, Nintendo's really going to have some of us by the balls with these face plates and menu themes!
