Don't get me wrong, I like Dragon Quest's Watabou character well enough, but not so much that I'd buy a $22 pair of fluffy headphones bearing its likeness.
Granted, even if someone made a Slime variation of this product, I'd probably only wear them around the house.
Whatever. I'd consider them a worthy purchase even if all I did was use them to decorate my desk.
Should you be interested in a pair (or two) of Watabou headphones, though, you'll want to head over to shopncsx.com at your earliest convenience so you can plop down a pre-order well in advance of their November release.

I'm in 100% agreement. Slime headphones? YES! These? Meh.
Well, I'm glad I'm not alone, Justin :) Here's hoping the folks at Taito (who seem to be the makers of the headphones shown/discussed here) offer up a Slime variation soon!
Ice Climber was a favorite of mine back then, recently re-bought it and still love it (minus the weird jump control which more often than not plunges you to your death LOL). Never played the original Japanese version of Ice Climber in which you take seals clubbing instead of bashing these fuzzy white critters that replaced them on the American NES version of IC. Cool to see the two eskimo's from IC are sorta-kinda now Nintendo mascots but not quite on the level as Mario, Donkey Kong and Pikachu.
Those first few "Arcade Classics" NES cartridges were really good and the main Nintendo games I've been recollecting and have all except maybe Kid Icarus and Super Mario 2.
Thanks for reviewing a forgotten classic ;)
You're welcome, Scott--and thank you for the comment! It's not often you come across a fellow fan of Ice Climber ... or maybe I should say "someone who doesn't completely hate Ice Climber."
BTW, I actually prefer the NA version of this game for its fuzzy white creatures (can't remember what they're called). They're so cute! Which I know should make me want to protect rather than club them, but this is a game after all, right?
The North American NES manual calls those white creatures "Topi" and I've also read it elsewhere called "Yeti". But the enormous maverick Avalanche Yeti from Mega Man X8 might argue tiny snowball "Topi" is of his species LOL
Ah, yes, I should've remembered that. And "yeti" definitely makes a lot of sense in this case--although I think these may be the cutest yeti I've encountered yet!
I will also take a pair of slime headphones!! I've actually been eying the slime slippers and slime blanket recently! lol
Ah, yes, I've seen the slime slippers. I'd totally buy some myself if I wore slippers. Plus, I'm not sure they make them big enough for my feet! Finally, a slime blanket? That sounds ... amazing.
I played it again last night and I love how that stupid condor at the top of the end-level bonus area likes to play keepaway while trying to grab onto his talons to get the bonus while the clock is ticking away the last few seconds.
Gets on my nerves every time! LOL
