I may not be as interested in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds as some 3DS owners, but that doesn't mean I'm completely disinterested in it.
For instance, I really like the feature that allows players to transform Link into a hieroglyph that can move along walls to reach new areas.
Flickr user lego27bricks recently used that ability as inspiration for the following creation, which, as his username implies, was pieced together with LEGO blocks.
A few in-the-works photos of this unique piece of art can be seen here, here and here, for those of you who are curious.
Are any of you planning to pick up A Link Between Worlds, by the way? If so, why is that? Are you big fans of the Zelda franchise, for instance, or do you have fond memories of A Link to the Past?
As for me, although I consider A Link to the Past to be one of my all-time favorite games, I'm still on the fence when it comes to this follow-up--in large part because of what I consider to be its "iffy" art style.

I will most definitely be buying it when it comes out. Yeah, I don't LOVE the art style...but it's another chance to revisit my favorite Zelda--in spirit, anyway. I'll take that, for sure.
I'll probably get it eventually, Justin, but I doubt that'll happen before sometime next year.
For me, the end of this year is going to be spent with Pokemon X/Y, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team and Hometown Story. Oh, and Shin Megami Tensei IV (which I got long ago but have yet to even open) and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (ditto), too :)
Day One purchase for me. I love A Link to the Past and top-down Zelda in general. There's no way I could pass it up. From the videos posted on the eShop, the 3D effect looks like it's being handled well, too.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm an outlier when it comes to this game--at least among 3DS owners/Nintendo fans.
I'm sure it'll be fun and control well, etc., but I really do wish it were less generic looking :|
In my crazed Nintendo fever dream, they wait until close to launch to reveal the GBA port of A Link to the Past is on there as well.
Just curious, what's iffy about the art style? I'm really impressed by how much it looks like the SNES Zelda, but in 3D. So many 3D "remakes" of 2D games that try to preserve the look end up looking cheap and kinda tacky to me, but that's not the case with this one at all (maybe it's because Zelda was faking 3D perspective in the first place).
That would be great, but I wouldn't bet on it :| (Debbie Downer alert!)
Actually, Michael, I find the art style in this game to be kind of generic. I also don't really like how "shiny" everything seems to be, which makes the game look like one of the early Donkey Kong Country games--and not in a good way. I think my main problem, though, is with the Link model, which I just don't find very appealing. I know, I'm weird.
Huh! Well, you're allowed to be weird! I don't see it at all, myself. And I hated the way the old DKC games looked, so I at least see how you wouldn't want to be reminded. :)
Don't worry, I'll probably put those feelings aside eventually and buy--and enjoy--the game anyway. All the really matters is how it plays, after all...
Hah! I'm not worried, I was just curious. I really haven't even played that many Zeldas tbh and I didn't really have any plans for picking this one up. I just wanted to know more. :)
I think the art style is OK, it's defiantly not as the most interesting art style the Zelda series had adopted but with a series that has a tendency to experiment with its art style there's always going to be one that's noticeably less interesting than the others. While I'm looking forward to it I probably won't get it at launch as I'm also still playing a good deal of New leaf and have purchased Shin Megami Tensei IV (and kinda of started it). I also plan to get Pokemon X or Y and Mario and Luigi: Dream Team but Dream Team will probably also have to wait since my backlog isn't lacking in JRPGs plus I got Radiant Historia, Pandora's Tower, Rhythm Heaven Fever for my birthday so yeah not having new games to play isn't really a problem for me right now.
Interesting! Are you just not much of a Zelda fan, then? I used to be a big fan of it back in the day (first game through about OOT), but I've since cooled on it to the point that I'm only a smidge interested in it now.
I actually like that Nintendo experiments a bit with Zelda's art style, Sam, but in this case I think the art style they chose is pretty boring. It's kind of like the New Super Mario Bros. of Zeldas, and I don't really consider that a good thing :|
I hear ya about certain games having to wait a bit to be played, by the way. Although I'm planning to get Dream Team around the time of my birthday, I won't play it until early next year, I'm guessing.
Yeah that's pretty much the case. I find that whenever I pick anything up that's in that "adventure" genre any more I tend to lose interest pretty quickly. I actually played a bit of Minish Cap a short while back and really found myself liking it, but as soon as I took a break, poof, I was done. They're great games but I just can't stick with 'em.
Ah, I think I'm in the same boat with RPGs lately. I play and enjoy them for a good while, but as soon as some sort of natural "break" intervenes (vacation, a busy spot at work, etc.) I'm done :|
