Of course, anyone who's also traipsing through Animal Crossing: New Leaf at the moment knows how wrong that line of thinking is--thanks to how slowly various areas and aspects of this adorable 3DS game are made available to players.
Cases in point: in the last week, both the Dream Suite and Kicks opened their doors to the citizens of Animachi, while Club LOL will follow suit this weekend. (The museum should get a second story, too.)
Other noteworthy events that came to pass in the last week: as showcased in the screencap below, Bryan paid a visit to the New Leaf home of Reggie Fils-Aime, president/COO of Nintendo of America.
Also, Aino helped celebrate Bluebear's birthday--or, rather, she watched while Bluebear and Snake celebrated in the former's darkened home.
Oh, and Animachi lost its first resident about halfway through the week, when Chevre moved to greener pastures. (Pun intended.)
Will Flo the penguin be the next to go? Both Bryan and Aino certainly hope so and have been doing all they can to prompt her to leave. Unfortunately, most of those efforts have blown up in their faces--as evidenced by the snapshot below that shows Aino falling victim to a pitfall seed she'd planted earlier in the day in front of Flo's home.
One Animachi citizen that won't be sent packing anytime soon is Rodney. Sure, he irked Aino and Bryan early on, but that changed when ol' Rodney showed his "true colors," so to speak.
Also helping matters has been Rodney's rad bachelor pad, which features two arcade cabinets, a pinball machine and a ping pong table, among other entertaining contraptions.
Other than that, Aino has been spending a lot of her free time racing around town--an endeavor that more often than not ends in disaster.
She's also enjoyed shooting down balloon presents--yes, even at night--with her recently acquired slingshot.
Bryan's a few steps ahead of her in that regard, thanks in large part to the golden slingshot that presented itself to him a few days ago.
And then, of course, there has been much fishing and bug-hunting. Aino, in particular, has developed a rather unhealthy obsession with finding orchid mantises among Animachi's many pale-colored flowers.
Bryan, on the other hand, encountered two swarms of bees in the course of a single day. This is the result of the first encounter:
While this is the result of the second (which transpired just a few minutes after the first):
The activity that took up the bulk of Aino's and Bryan's time this past week, though, was the laying of a stone path that now winds around Animachi.
It even goes through the "Great Animachi Forest."
And it surrounds the village's centrally located fountain, too.
Unsurprisingly, the rest of Animachi's residents aren't entirely sure what to make of it at the moment, but they're sure to come around eventually. And if they don't? Well, you see what Bryan's wearing on his head at the moment, don't you?
GOLDEN SLINGSHOT?!
ReplyDeleteYep! Not sure why I got one of those instead of a silver one, but I ain't complaining! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of that golden slingshot.
ReplyDeleteChevre R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteNice, how did you get such wide paths? 2 patterns side by side?
ReplyDeleteAlso if you're interested in exchanging 3DS FC let me know. :)
I just got back from buying the game.. now I'm kinda stuck already. There's only space for 8 letters and I have to think of a name for my town...seriously, why does name input rarely get localised (as in upped to 12 or more spaces)?? ;__;
ReplyDeleteHope you'll let me visit Animachi as well some day... but for now I should focus on finally getting past that "name your town" screen, I guess. XD
Is it that rare? Anyway, I expected a silver one, as I've been shooting stuff out of the sky like a mad man, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was a golden one.
ReplyDeleteEh, she was OK, but I wanted to make room for someone else, you know? Now Flo--she's the one that *HAS* to go...
ReplyDeleteHey there, Dexter! Yep, two patterns side by side. My paths probably look massive in screenshots, but I think in action/person they look pretty darn good. That said, I may change out the pattern for a different, less "harsh" one in the future.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the restriction on character and town names sucks. I believe the Japanese version's even more limited, though, so don't complain too much, miruki! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, and yes, I'll definitely let you visit Animachi some time if you'd like. It's finally taking shape, I think. Now if only I could get more hybrid flowers to grow...
Here's the pattern I used, by the way: http://merongcrossing.tumblr.com/post/52074507124

Zomg, that looks like a splendid third week! And are those persimmons? How did you happen across those!
ReplyDeleteYep, they're persimmons. Someone gave them to me when I visited his/her town a while back.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't gotten a golden slingshot!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of, thank you for the persimmons and pears. I think that completes my fruit collection for my town.
ReplyDeleteOh! Are they completely random or something? If so, I didn't know!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Terry! Also, if you find you're wrong and you need another fruit or two or three, let mw know!
ReplyDeleteYep, already added you! :)
ReplyDeleteThx for sharing the patterns!
