Just in case you've forgotten, Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be released in North America in less than a month.
That likely sounds like a reasonably short amount of time to some folks, but for me it's still much too far away. The game was first teased during E3 2011, damn it. I want it nooooooooooow!
The only things that are keeping me anywhere close to sane through all of this are New Leaf-centric Tumblrs like bunsicalcrossing.tumblr.com and merongcrossing.tumblr.com.
Oh, and videos like the one above, created by YouTube user surrounded78, who produced each of the 95 (or so) illustrations included within using black pencil and acrylic paint.
My favorites are shown at :25, 1:04, 1:13, 2:56 and 3:05, by the way. Which are yours?

Every time I'm reminded of Animal Crossing I decide I'm going to buy a Wii or DS. But then I don't... :P
Honestly, Simon, you might want to buy either a GameCube or a 3DS instead, as by nearly all accounts the original Animal Crossing (for GC) or New Leaf (for 3DS) are the best entries in the series.
I was wondering will you be adding any readers to your 3ds friend roster? I'm gay myself and it would be awesome to have a gay friend to play animal crossing with (:
My friend code is 1676-4538-4989
Hope to getting to play ac with you.
Oh, I'm jealous! Now I want to go back into my GC town and try to nab him.
As for visiting my town once the game is released: of course! As long as I can visit yours :)
I'm certainly willing to add people I've gotten to know via this blog's comments section or Facebook or Twitter, Nate. Although I've just met you (I don't think you've commented here before--have you?), I'll take the risk and add you, too ;) Just give me a few minutes/hours to do so, OK?
haha I'll offer mine up, I know I don't update my blog to much but you know I'm good for it!

Its so horrible waiting for that ONE GAME you're really looking forward to. SimCity before this and Spore before that .... I hope this one dos'ent follow the same dissapointing tradition haha.
This is my first time commenting on your blog, I actually thought you needed an account to comment until I realized you could anonymous comment LOL. Silly me.
Okie dokie, Robert--I'll add you, too ... as soon as I'm done with my workout.
Oh, and I agree about being horrible when it comes to waiting for certain games. I'm the same way, sadly :|
Well, welcome aboard, Nate! And, nope, you don't need an account to comment here. Anyway, I'll add you to my 3DS shortly!
I've already got a GameCube (two actually), I've had one for a good while now. I thought the GC version was much smaller and more limited than the Wii one. If not, I may well do as you suggest! :)
Thanks, I'll definitely be commenting here alot more regularly (: It's too bad we couldn't both start on the same day. I live in Australia so I'll be getting the game a few days after you. But I guess it's a good thing cus I'll be finished with all my exams by then.
Oh, the Wii version definitely had more to it--in most ways--than the GC original, but I personally prefer the GC version to the ones that were released for the DS and Wii. (For starters, you can have many more neighbor animals in your village at any one time in the GC iteration than you can in the DS or Wii ones.)
Personally, if I were you I'd either stick with the GC version or buy a 3DS and a copy of New Leaf--especially since, by pretty much all accounts--New Leaf is supposed to be the best of the bunch by far.
Well, don't be so sure we won't be starting at the same time, Nate. I ordered my copy through Newegg.com, and it usually takes a number of days for Newegg orders to arrive. Of course, it's possible I'll decide, in desperation, to buy a digital version of the game, too, but even if that's the case it's not like I'll be playing it for weeks longer than you will!
OK, Nate, I've added you!
Hey, Robert, I added you, but it seems you haven't added me yet? Here's my friend code, in case you were waiting for that: 3050-8125-7171
