Oh, and in case you didn't already know it, Osawari Tantei Nameko Daihanshoku is a match-three spin-off of Beeworks' Touch Detective series of portable point-and-click games.
As for why I'm looking forward to this Japanese 3DS title as much as I am at the moment: for the last week or so I've spent more time than I'd like to admit playing (what I'm pretty sure is) the Osawari Tantei Nameko Daihanshoku demo that can be found at mg.success-corp.co.jp.
I know what some of you are thinking after watching the trailer above: isn't it just a Zoo Keeper clone with a few added bells and whistles? Yes, but that's OK with me, as I've long been a fan of that puzzler's gameplay.
Plus, you can't go wrong with all of the cute-as-buttons--not to mention penile-esque--Funghi characters that are packed into Osawari Tantei Nameko Daihanshoku. (My current favorite: the fuzzy pink ones.)

Thanks for the demo link, not having a 3DS means it's all I get </3. Maybe if it sells well there'll be a third Touch Detective! (*dreamin'*). The Nameko merch is everywhere my friend in Japan said, it's so mainstream now he said my Nameko stuff isn't cool
You're welcome! Based on the trailer I posted here, as well as my experience with the demo, I have a feeling there's quite a bit more to the 3DS game (as in, more modes, etc.), but you should still have some good fun with the demo. Let me know what you think of it if you give it a go, will you?
So cute! I love it when mushrooms flex their muscles.
Ha ha! Yes, I like that part, too. The game's actually quite a bit of fun, if I do say so myself. I like that it feels a bit faster paced than Zoo Keeper.
Finally got a chance to play this demo, super fun. I was surprised by how much of a difference it makes when the mushrooms stop bouncing occasionally. It's not like I haven't played a billion match 3 games, but suddenly I was totally blind to all the obvious matches.
Ah, glad to hear you liked it! I guess I'm a bit of a strange case in that I haven't played a ton of match-three puzzlers, so this game maybe is a bit fresher to me than it would be to other folks. Anyway, I'm glad you tried it!
