Personally, I'd prefer if it the game were a first-person dungeon-crawler like the Madou Monogatari series' first few releases (the MSX, PC88, PC Engine and Game Gear ones, especially), but I'll take what I can get.
Madou Monogatari ARS for the PC88
By the way, the other Vita games on my ever-growing "to buy" list are @field, Dokuro, Gravity Rush, Orgarhythm and Sound Shapes--with Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f, Persona 4 Golden and Phantasy Star Online 2 included as "extremely possibles."

I say the picture and thought it was a Madou Monogatari remake :(
I'm still waiting for someone to make a real Puyo Puyo RPG. I thought Puzzle Quest was such a great idea, but it had no character whatsoever. Puyo Puyo Puzzle Quest could be amazing.
Oh, sorry, retr0gamer! I went with this screenshot because I've yet to be able to find any of this new game. Actually, I found a few screenshots of the game's map screen, but that wasn't very exciting. Plus, I'm madly in love with (the idea of) Madou Monogatari ARS, so I take any chance I get to talk about it or share screens of it :)
I'd love that, too, Steve, but sadly I think those days are long gone. After all, the Compile that created the first Puyo Puyo games (and the original Madou Monogatari games) no longer exists. Also, Sega owns the Puyo Puyo IP, I believe and, well, you likely know how badly Sega screws things up these days. Oh, well :|
If it's a bit like Shiren the Wanderer, then it's most likely going to be like one of the Saturn Puyo RPGs, one of those was a bit Rogue-like. I'm currently on 'cautious optimism' with this one.
(Incidentally, I saw you were asking about the Project DIVA games on the Twitters a few days ago- if you have any joy with the PSP games, definitely get f as it improves on them in a lot of ways)
A Shiren style Madou Monogatari game!? *faints*
Hey there, Ant! Yeah, I'm definitely getting a 'Shiren-esque' vibe from the description of this one. Which is OK with me--even if I would prefer it to be a first-person dungeon crawl like the 'traditional' Madou Monogatari games.
Also, the character designs look pretty nice so far, so that's good. I'm a little sad Arle and, likely, the Puyo Puyo blobs won't be making an appearance (the latter because of Sega owns the IP) in this one, but I'll deal.
Thanks for the heads up RE: Project Diva f, by the way. I don't own a Vita at the moment and likely won't own one for a good bit, but I'll certainly keep this game in mind for when I *do* get one :)
Hmmmm I'd definitely be interested in this if they (Compile Heart) move away from their recent moe-rific tendencies, but considering otaku fans are largely the folks keeping them in business these days, I kind of doubt it! (Can you tell I'm a little cynical, Bryan? ;P)
Sadly, I think you have every right to be cynical, Anne. I don't know much about Compile Heart, sadly, but from what I've read about them, they're most interested in moe-ish games these days. I hope this one doesn't follow suit, but I'm guessing it will :|
