Cyrus and his magic rod are coming to PS3, PSP and Vita

OK, so the header above is a bit childish. Sorry about that. I have a good reason for coming up with and using it, though--with that reason being that I wanted this post to grab the attention of as many people as possible.

Why is that? Well, it's because this post is about Wizorb, a game that I believe has not received nearly enough attention since it was released last September.

As for why I'm writing about it again (yeah, I've written about it a few times already): This Breakout-with-a-smidge-of-RPG is going to be made available to PS3, PSP and Vita owers--as a PS Mini--sometime this June.

Oh, and according to the fine gents at tinycartridge.com, this version of Wizorb will be sold for the entirely reasonable (in my opinion) price of $3.99.

News flash (or maybe not, given all the love I've showered onto this title thus far): I'll be picking this up day one, despite the fact that I already have copies of Wizorb sitting on my Xbox 360, PC and (I think) Mac.

Oh gosh, how exciting! I'll definitely be grabbing the PS3/mini version! In fact, I'm so excited about this that I'm going to add it to my "best of niche gaming" list for June over at VGW! This game definitely deserves more recognition, I say! (ok, granted I haven't actually gotten around to playing it – I'm just basing this on your opinion and what I've seen so far)

Btw, Bryan, I picked up Bubble Bobble for the Wii virtual console with the spare 500 points I had lying around. Will give it a go tonight with Shaun!

Pity no 3DS version :(

That's great, Anne! I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

As for Bubble Bobble: You picked up the NES version, right? If so, I look forward to hearing what you think of it, too :)

Igor: Yes, it is a pity -- and kind of baffling, really. The game would be a great fit for the 3DS, in my opinion. Hopefully the guys at Tribute are working on a 3DS version, too...

Sweet! Maybe I'll buy that version, too. It's already proven to be a great game! And on my PS3, I'd be more likely to give it more of my time.

Which version do you have already, Justin? The PC version? Anyway, I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far. I really like the idea of this becoming a portable experience, so I'll be going with the PSP version, no question.

I think it'll be perfect for on the go play, so I'd really like to play it on my Vita... Oh boy :3

As for Bubble Bobble, yep, it's the original NES version. I gave it a bit of a go but I'm sure I don't have the hang of it yet! But with all those fruits and veggies everywhere, I can see why you like it ;)

Oh, I'm sure it'll be nice to have on your Vita, Anne -- especially with that great screen :)

As for Bubble Bobble: Keep at it. There's actually a nice amount of strategy to it, plus the level design is pretty great -- especially later on.

I bought it on Steam, so...Mac and PC. I like it, but I think I'd rather play it with a controller.

I understand. I really liked playing it with a mouse, but I won't complain about being able to use a d-pad :)
