I love Hama beads! My girlfriend bought some a while ago and we spent the day making sprite art with them, including a Bub by myself.
Oh, that's great, Retr0gamer. I may have to pick up some of these beads myself sometime soon. Not sure which game I'd start with though...
I've done Bub in Perler beads too. Bubble Bobble's sprites are perfect for it because of the colors (I know the black outlining isn't accurate but it really makes them stand out, and evokes the game's background)
Oh, yeah, coolpowers, I can see Bubble Bobble being a great source of ideas and inspiration for Perler Bead artists. I'll bet Super Mario Bros. and other early, Nintendo-made Famicom/NES games being great for this, too :)

16-bit sprites tend to be a bit too big and colourful but if you want a challenge and don't mind having massive pieces of sprite art in the house then go for it!

Retr0gamer: Yeah, I can see 16-bit sprites being too big or detailed. I'd go with 8-bit sprites if I were to start some Perler Bead art.
