What's an "alien goose of love," you ask? Why, it's the ... thing showcased in the image below (as well as here), that's what it is.
Also, it's a small part of a collage that Atlanta-based artist Ashley Anderson is working on for Young Foxy & Free.
Anderson recently took to Facebook to comment on this much-anticipated (by me, at the very least) project:
"This constitutes about one-sixth of a collage I've been working on for Young Foxy & Free. If you like this, you will have an absolute conniption at the sight of the whole thing!"
The cropped image above is the "this" Anderson is talking about in his Facebook quote, by the way.
Anyway, keep an eye on this blog--or on Anderson's blog, Facebook page or Flickr photostream--for more information on this sure-to-be-intriguing piece of art.
Sweet. I love any piece that uses those flying saucer-y background thingies from Super Mario Land...
ReplyDeleteAh, good catch, Justin! My favorite thing about Ashley's art is figuring out -- or finding out, at least -- where he acquired his sprites. OK, I also like that most of them are really out there, too :P
ReplyDeleteHAHHAHA! It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it, Marco :) I can't wait for the full, finished product myself!
ReplyDelete..Why doesn't this guy have more followers and things on his blog? I mean, I've read about what you've written about him before Bryan, and, he's like, one of, or the? at least very high up there like.. One of the best pixel artists ever. Every piece is so well informed and purposeful.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he supports or promotes his blog much, SUIKA. He has a much bigger presence on Facebook, as far as I'm aware. Also etsy.com. So, don't worry too much -- he has a nice following! Still, he deserves even more, doesn't he? As such, I'll keep writing about him and his work until he receives the attention he deserves :)
ReplyDeleteYou guys are a bunch of sweeties, you know that? I appreciate your kind words so much!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a bit of a blogging weakling. I've been trying to do a weekly update, but as far as promotion goes I am pretty slack. If y'all have any suggestions I would definitely take them!
Also, the finished poster is on the streets. However, the streets at present are only those of Atlanta, Athens, and Savannah, given the limited distribution at present. Maybe I'll have to ship a few copies out to some of my West Coast homies? :)
Hey there, Ash! Nice to see you around here again :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you don't have to worry about slacking when it comes to blogging -- I'm sure your fans appreciate any posts you're able to publish. Plus, like I said earlier, you seem pretty darn busy on facebook and etsy.
Thanks for letting me and the rest of the folks here know that the finished poster has hit the streets. I'm actually planning to publish a post about it in a few days, so keep an eye out for it!
As for shipping a few copies of the mag out to your West Coast hommies: I'd certainly accept them! Don't worry about it, though, if it's any kind of hassle.
