I promised when I added Google AdSense to the site that if the ads didn't help me earn enough to buy an extra game or two a month I'd get rid of them.
Well, not only didn't the ads earn me enough to buy a game in the last month, they didn't earn me enough to buy a pack of gum! So, away they go.
Although I'll likely give them a second chance at some point in the future, for the time being this blog will be free of those oh-so-helpful ads that try to get you to buy heartburn meds or invest in retirement homes.

Aw, that's too bad the ads didn't work out. Would it have helped if we clicked on them? I don't really understand how putting ads in blogs/websites brings in money, so...
Anyway, they didn't really bother me at all, so if you ever feel like using them again, go ahead!
Wow, not even a pack of gum? The ads I'd see on your blog here in Japan were usually for Groupon or Calvin Klein.
Guess I'll keep them off my blog too for now:)
Well, that's a drag for you! Sorry to hear they didn't work out like you'd hoped they would.
I was really enjoying my Final Fantasy V experience, had just made one of my characters a Geomancer to check it out...I saved my file after the Library of the Ancients, took my DS to the laundromat, and when I turned the game on...POOF. No save file.
Fucking game...
Haha, yeah, I'm thinking of getting rid of them too - I've made £2.84 in about four or five months! :|
Thanks, Anne! I'm sure I'll give them a try again in the future. It's nice to know they weren't too bothersome :)
Sean: I think they're pretty specialized, based on your searching history. I'm not sure what that says about the ads I was seeing then...
Oh, NO, Justin! I wonder what caused that?? I don't suppose there's any hope it'll come back (the save file)?
Simon: It seems neither of us were deemed to be worthy of viewable rather than clickable ads. Sorry you haven't had any better luck with them than I did :(
It's not coming back...and I'm having trouble bringing myself to start again (although I'm already thinking about what I'd change, jobwise)...
Oh, that's terrible :( Maybe you should take a break from it, then, and come back to it later when you're not so pissed at it...
I think I might.
Ugh. Sorry that had to happen. It's a great game otherwise, really!
