The Gay Gamer x Tiny Cartridge, take one

The first of four posts written by yours truly has been published over at Tiny Cartridge. (Here's a direct link to it.)

It's a quippy little post about how I think the folks at Nintendo may want to reconsider how they're marketing the 3DS--with a quirky ad for the GameBoy Camera (aka Pocket Camera) serving as a somewhat-tongue-in-cheek example of the direction they could take things in the future.

If you think that sounds like a fun read, head over to tinycartidge.com when you have a chance.

Oh, funny! I totally read this post the other day. And I thought to myself, "I didn't realize he had written for them before..." Apparently it was published earlier than I thought it would be...

Good article. I think you're right about it, for sure. They need to push the face merge thing and some of the other cute, fun, unique things it offers. The 3D just isn't a huge draw for some people, me included. But the face merge thing got me from the get-go. Even if we haven't gotten it to work yet,

Hi Bryan,

My name is Catherine Meyers, I'm the admin of a web blog directory, while reading your blog and it's reviews and articles about games and consoles (like this one), I was wondering if you might be interested in a link exchange (no money involved), I would add your blog in my directory so my visitors will also visit your site and in exchange you add my website to your blogroll or links. Please let me know if you are interested and the best of luck with The Gay Gamer.

Cheers!

Cathy

Hey there, Justin! Yeah, I waited a while before publishing this post yesterday. I thought a second post might be published yesterday, too, and I wanted to lump them all into the same post on my blog :)

As for the focus of the post over at TC: It'll be interesting to see what Nintendo does with this relaunch of the 3DS they've been talking about (which I'm guessing would start soon -- maybe after E3?). I can understand why they've stuck to the "classy, sterile, white" thing with their ads, as that worked well for the DS and Wii, but I think it's time to change it up a bit.

That said, it probably won't matter what kind of ads they put out there when the hot games hit -- games like Animal Crossing, Mario Kart 3DS, Super Mario 3DS, RE: Revelations, etc. At point, word of mouth will spread and the thing will sell like hotcakes.
