The sentence above means "today is Tuesday" is Japanese, by the way.
I learned that while traveling over the weekend. Specifically, I learned it while "playing" My Japanese Coach, a DS game developed and published by Ubisoft, as the hubs and I flew from Seattle to Oskaloosa, Kansas and home again over the weekend.
Now, I realize My Japanese Coach probably isn't the most comprehensive option available to folks trying to learn this particular language, but it certainly seems (so far, at least) to be an acceptable introduction to it.
Anyway, I'm having a blast at the moment and I'm looking forward to learning more of this language in the coming weeks, months and even years--assuming I stick with it, of course.

I've always wondered if those titles were any good. That's exciting for you!
I spent my weekend playing Retro Gaming Challenge on the DS. Last night I reached the end-ish, and I realized that I was feeling nostalgic for these games that never actually existed. They're SO GOOD. Especially Guadia Quest, the RPG, and Robot Ninja Haggle Man 3. It's like Ninja Gaiden meets Castlevania meets Metroid. PURE FUN!
I can't really say yet if this title is good or bad, Justin -- all I can say is that I'm enjoying it.
I really should give the French version a try, as I actually know some of that language and would be better able to say if the teaching method rocks or sucks.
I have read that there are some issues with this particular title, BTW -- though the same person suggested it still could be used as a good introduction to the language.
Eventually, I'll also pick up some of the books that have been suggested to me -- especially when I go to learn Kanji.
Anyway, enough about that!
I'm glad to hear that you've been enjoying Retro Gaming Challenge. I've been meaning to pick up that one for ages now. Maybe I'll finally get around to it after I'm done with Dragon Quest IX...
Yeah...that's on my BUY NOW list. Is it out?
Not yet. It'll be out on Sunday. I won't be getting mine until sometime next week, but that's OK -- I can "play" My Japanese Coach in the meantime :)
