The question is: Will they bring me back to the Pokémon fold?
I devoured Pokémon Red back in the day. I don't remember if I "caught them all" or if I completed the game, but I remember putting a lot of hours into the game. I put a lot fewer hours into my second Pokémon purchase, Pokémon Emerald, and I spent even less time with my third, Pokémon Pearl.
I kind of doubt "Gen 5," as the kids call it, will reverse that trend. That said, I'm intrigued by some of the changes the folks at Pokemon Company seem to be making to the series. Specifically, I'm really digging the new perspective:
Still, so little is known about Pokémon Black and White at this point that it's hard to have much of an opinion about them.
I keep waiting for them to make a full-fledged next gen Pokemon game that isn't HANDHELD. I think a console Pokemon game would sell MILLIONS! Unfortunately, they can sell a million copies of a crappy stadium game for the console, too...and those are cheaper to make, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm with you there, Justin. Sadly, I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. It's too popular on the handhelds, for starters, and then there's the issue of swapping Pokemon with friends -- which I'm guessing is easier to do when everything's portable.
ReplyDeleteOh, true. I didn't really think of that.
ReplyDeleteDitto that. And that was my original point. If they can keep selling millions of copies of CRAPWARE, then why would they spend the money on something truly great if it wouldn't sell anymore copies than an arena title?
ReplyDeleteBah. Business is maddening.
